Fall Camp

Last week was the high school fall camp.  This is a time when we take the entire high school to a camp north of Beijing for three days.  The school is divided into teams of 10 and the seniors are leaders of these teams.  The teams compete in games, skits, and presentations.  It is really a great time for students to get to know kids in all grades and to promote leadership skills in our seniors.  This year fall camp went really smoothly and I enjoyed the time.  The weather was beautiful after raining the first day and it was great to be near the mountains and enjoy fresh air.
As tradition holds the students made their own stew over a fire the first
evening and skits were performed by all.  Enjoy the pictures. :)  Oh and our speaker this
year was Jungrok who taught with me my
first two years here.  It was wonderful to have fall camp
 together again! :)

The Egg toss:  Every year one team competition is the egg toss.  This is quite a big deal and the distance that the students can toss an egg and catch it is crazy.  If you can carefully see below, the student in black is getting ready to catch the egg from a student WAAAYYYY down the road.

Hi Jenn,

I loved your pictures and story about "Fall Camp" Did the guy really catch the egg when it was thrown that far? Amazing! How nice that Jungrok could be there.

Love,
Mom

Yes mom, he indeed did catch the egg. However, on the return trip the egg did not make it. None the less that's a long distance. Talented I say! ;)
